I always wanted to be a personal trainer, so I could share my enthusiasm for fitness and help others understand how to get more active. After spending years working as a childminder while raising my children, I decided to revisit this ambition. During 2020, I took the opportunity to gain my Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification and Personal Trainer Diploma.
My approach to fitness
Becoming active, then staying active long term, doesn’t have to be a daunting process. So many of us approach fitness with an all-or-nothing mentality, telling ourselves that we need to make a huge change that will be reflected in everything we do. This can provide some fantastic motivation at first, but as time goes on it often becomes unsustainable, particularly alongside all the other responsibilities and commitments in our lives. I want to show you that what really matters is being consistent and fitting in what you can. It’s all about finding a routine that works for you, your lifestyle, and your goals.

My own fitness journey
I’ve always enjoyed sports and exercise but often found it difficult to maintain these interests as a regular part of my life. The demands on my time, particularly after having children, meant that I was trying lots of different exercise routines and finding it difficult to stick with them long term.
It was only once I had taken the time to really understand fitness that I came to realise the importance of a balanced, sustainable approach. Having clear goals and knowing exactly how to work towards them meant that I could make the progress I wanted within the time that I had. This is the same approach that I now want to share with you.
What’s in a name?
The name ‘B3 Fitness and Nutrition’ perfectly sums up my approach. Fitness and nutrition are intrinsically linked – no matter how hard you try, you will not out-exercise a diet that doesn’t fit your goals. By providing expertise in both areas, I make sure my clients understand how to work towards their fitness goals effectively so they can be free to take control of their own lives and wellbeing. On a more personal level, the ‘B’ also reminds me of my children, Brooke and Brody. They keep me motivated and remind me of why I like to stay active.
